With the announcement of a FANS FORUM on Saturday to give details of the ground situation, we thought we’d use this week’s THROWBACK THURSDAY to look back at the final competitive match at Rockingham Road.

The final day of the 2010/2011, to condemn Southport to relegation from the Blue Square Bet Premier division., and although no-one knew at the time, it was to be the last time ever a ball was kicked in anger at the stadium.

It was also to be the last match of Marcus Law’s first spell in charge of the Poppies, before his move to Tamworth. Many thanks to Marcus for donating the footage to the archive.

The Poppies goals that day came from Adam Cunnington, Luke O’Neill and Jon Challinor. Kettering also missed a penalty, with JP Marna’s effort coming back off the upright.
